It wouldn't be October if I wasn't whining and wailing about wanting more trees, so here I am. I have decided to try web voting for the entrants in TARATS again this year and I have made a display page for the entrants that I will add a voting widget to when the time comes.
Until then, all current entrants can be viewed on this page, from now until the end of the contest or even longer, I guess.
If you follow that link you will find 4 trees in the slideshow. 4 is a paltry number. I fear my contest is losing what little popularity it had, perhaps because I am constantly whining about it.
I know many parts of the USA (my largest trading partner) aren't ready yet, so I'm hoping I'm just being stupid and all kinds of entries are going to come flooding in soon.
Anyway, that page will always be up to date with the latest and greatest for anyone needing a foliage fix.

Looks like it might be time to reconsider the prize offering.
So far, what I've seen is not all that impressive. Here in the DC area, we had a temporary cold snap and now it's become warmer again, so we have a lot of trees in half-baked fall foliage and what color there was on half the leaves is now turning brown, so we have trees about to turn from green and red or green and yellow to muddy brown and red or muddy brown and yellow.
Plus, I'm in suburban Maryland where Pepco (our deservedly-maligned and blackout-ridden electric company) has been trimming trees back like mad in a belated attempt to clear power lines, so many of the trees now look ridiculous, with missing crowns or big holes chopped out of their sides.
Nope. Trophy and Breadcrumbs. I have no money or goods to throw at this.
IBC - Hey, that works for me... nobody has any good trees! Feelin' better.
Hold your horses. You did say the contest is open until the end of December. I'll bombard you with entires.
Yeah I got a few more to submit too. It seemed like they went from colorful to rust in a hurry here in Ohio. I'm glad I didn't wait around too long. Some of the trees I shot earlier are completely bare now.
Annie - oh yeah. keep talkin' just like that.
RCT - Yes, same here. The King has no clothes now.
I haven't gotten back to my best contender yet or had time to sort through my photos of lower echelon entries.
As you know, I've adopted a new tree strategy this year. No tree before its time. My spy's gonna make another recon this weekend...
cafiend , Steve - you are both too kind for continuing to respond to my childish pleas for trees. I know you too are in if you can be. I appreciate it, and no rush.
