Wow man. I thought the King would rule. I have taken many photos of my favourite tree this fall, hoping to dominate the foliage frenzy over at anniebikes.
No such luck. I must have known deep in my sappy bones that this would be a lackluster year and bailed on the smackdown as a result. Or it is just coincidence. One of those.
Anyway, if you want to see how the King looks this year, check out anniebikes. He will be posted there sooner or later, or so I have been led to believe.

I must confess that I have been trained to keep my eyes out for "rats" candidates myself. Not quite peak out here on the left coast yet.
Hold your horses! Or, er, bikes. Impatience will get you nowhere, Mr. Rantwick. I hate to rub it in, but here in Vermont we've had such a banner foliage season that I have a backlog of gorgeous, drop-dead, spectacular, colorful, delicious Autumn photos in the line-up that your ONE mediocre KIng tree will have to wait in the cue.
Cheer up, Rantwick. Around here, we've been having a lack luster Autumn season as well. Seems that just when the leaves are getting pretty, we have a storm to knock them down before the trees reach their prime.
Over, and over, and over again. *sigh* Maybe next year, right?
annie - yes, the mediocre king is prepared to wait. in deep shame.
RQ - As much as I dig a good tree, I don't need cheering up! Really, I don't...
