Helmet Cam And Other Weenies

As you may be aware, I am a pretty big fan of cycling POV cam videos. Today, however, I am just fed up with the ever-increasing number of helmet cam cyclists who post about every little infraction. I'm unsubscribing from this guy for sure: obscured license on parked truck? Really? Maybe the truck pissed him off previously or something, I don't know. There just seems to be an upswing in cam cyclists who need to get a life and get off the Airzound.

For myself, I just need to get back on the bike... soon after my most recent snowy video I suffered a muscle pull that I decided required a couple days off the bike. That couple of days has turned into a couple of months! I don't really know what is wrong with me... I love to ride, even in winter. Is it possible I just don't anymore? I don't think so. I'm just being a weenie, giving in to my lazy bone, both here on the blog and in my bike commuting. Both things are a source of joy for me, yet here I am, bummed out and driving or taking the bus to work.

Maybe I need to start meditating or have my ears candled or get a tattoo or get to bed earlier or stop watching so much crappy TV. "Storage Wars"? "Border Security"? What the hell is wrong with me? All opinions welcome, since my usual source of personal insight through skull irregularities, Mordecai McBumpanoggin, is no longer returning my calls. Perhaps he has returned to Vienna; it's anybody's guess with that guy.

Anyway, thanks for reading and wish me luck as I try to get back on track!

Perhaps you should read "The Power of Now" while waiting for the spring thaw. It may be just the thing to explain your current condition. =)

Abe - thanks, man! I'm digging out the shed and grabbing the bike tonight. I think.

John - Perhaps! I'll check it out... maybe.

Inactivity feeds itself. When circumstances keep me from doing things I soon degenerate to the point where inertia keeps me from seeking every opportunity, like I used to.

Been lucky this winter that opportunities have come along just before total catatonia takes hold. I've been to the brink and back a dozen times. March looks like it might work out well to get me ready to launch the commute, for a change. The month is young...but the trend seems good.

Cafiend - "Inactivity feeds itself". Precisely! Agreed, things are lookin' up for March!

"...have my ears candled .." ??? As for the rest, plus one. I rode today for the first time in months. The toughest part was pumping up the tires ( tyres for the Limey readers). As always, I really enjoy...

Patrick,
Not that you don't know this, but even cycling has its cycles; just like the road, bro - ups and down; peaks and valleys. Just ride'em out!

For me, personally, music and meditation help.
Otherwise, my head is full of 'data', much of which is noise, if not used when the time is right, in some sense :)

Hope your muscle pull get better and you get back on the bike, if that's what you wanna do.

Have a Beautiful Day!
Peace :)

Oh - I also like John's suggestion. Tolle's book is a great read!

In the Misery Love Company category, I can sympathize. Out of a potential 20 days in February to bike outside, I may have hit 3 or 4. I just can't keep the hands warm below -20. March is looking up as I've already hit that many, so come join me! Plus, I swear that I see more people on bikes this winter than I ever have, and it's not from lack of looking.

Chandra - thanks man!

RS - Thanks to you too. I agree, many more on bikes this winter. I remember when I felt like the only one; last couple months its been many others, without me! I rode today and it felt really good, as expected.
